 One who taunts others are always in a state of anger and regret. They make others feel bad and they themselves feel bad about themselves. One who criticizes and taunts others are in fact taunting themselves. It's better to look at your own faults rather than finding faults in others besides it's not a good thing ridiculing and taunting others. In Surah Hujurat its is said those who taunt and deride others are the ones on whom Allah looks down about as the person derided maybe better than you if he is a more Allah fearing person than you. Every person has some flaw and no one is perfect so we shouldnt taunt others on the basis of intelligence, looks, occupation or socio economic status. We all go through tough times and Allah puts everyone in hardship so we must not taunt people in their situations. Allah puts everyone under tests. In the end what i would like to say is that Allah puts everyone under trial so we mustnt further pull down people by taunting them.
